The Society aims to promote friendship and cooperation between the UK and Uzbekistan in such fields as business, education and the arts. It is involved in different activities such as organising exhibitions, lectures, visits or joint projects in the field of art and cultural development

We are pleased to present the only official British-Uzbek Society established in 2001 as a Charitable organisation by a group of prominent people in the UK, including business, academic and artistic communities and with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London. The President of the Society is Lord Ponsonby. Dr Hartley Booth is the Chairman of the Society, and the Vice-Chairman is Dr Shirin Akiner (Professor of SOAS, University of London). In 2009 Student Division was created with the purpose of facilitating an exchange of ideas and knowledge between the youth of Britain, Uzbekistan and Central Asia. We will welcome all individuals interested in economy, history and culture of Uzbekistan and Central Asia. We aim to promote friendship and business links through discussion forums, social and cultural events.
